This is one of those things that makes my nerdy little heart go pitter-pat! Remember how I said that my main goal in starting this blog was to connect with other preemie parents? Well, it’s happened and I am beyond flattered to tell you that one of them, reinventionofmama, has nominated me for the Liebster, WordPress Family, Semper Fidelis and Reader Appreciation Awards here on WordPress 🙂 I plagiarized her descriptions because this is all new to me haha!
1. WordPress Family Award
Rules: Display the award on your blog, link back to the person who nominated you, nominate 10 others you see as having an impact on your WordPress experience and family. I am still building my follow list, but I’m happy to share my favorites so far!

11 Random Facts About Me:
I have two cats who are identical twins – they were rescues, the only survivors in their litter after some jerk tried to poison them. They cry if they’re separated, even for a few minutes.
My wedding anniversary is also my dad’s birthday.
My favorite knitting projects are socks.
My first blog was on MySpace back in the day, I wrote it while I was bored working the night shift.
I also write a heating & cooling/home improvement blog for my day job as a social media specialist.
I do not go anywhere without a book or my Nook to read in case I have to wait.
I sing my baby Simon & Garfunkle songs instead of normal lullabies and he loves it 🙂
At my wedding, two of my girlfriends and I opened the dance floor with a surprise performance of the Glee “Halo/Walkin’ on Sunshine” mashup.
If I spend an evening alone, I will usually drink a big glass of red wine and listen to Billy Joel and read.
I firmly believe that rainy days are made for murder mysteries and hot tea.
When I’m home, I drink my red wine ::horrors:: chilled, but I’m too embarrassed to ask for it that way in a restaurant.
11 questions from ‘mama:
At what age did you begin writing? Very young – I was probably the only kindergartener to know what “plagiarism” meant because I had copied out one of my books word for word and got a lecture from my dad haha!
Did you write any really bad high school angsty poetry? Even worse, in college! Care to share? Nope, destroyed it years ago!
What is your favorite novel to read? So many, but I’ll go with Jane Eyre because she’s a total badass.
Are there any books you have read more than once? If I haven’t read it at least twice, I probably hated it.
If you’re writing a book, what genre? Not currently, but I did write a YA mystery a long time ago.
What’s your guilty pleasure? Netflix marathons – currently obsessing over Grey’s Anatomy
If you could do anything, completely start over -what would it be? Not a chance – it’s been a crazy road, but it led me to Paul and PJ and I wouldn’t trade that for anything (ok, maaaybe I could be Amelia Peabody Emerson for awhile).
What’s the funniest thing you have done recently? Not recently, but I did get a chance to use the line “I know something you don’t know – I am not left-handed!” in a mock swordfight. It was epic.
Hoping that you have a good friend to call on when you need her/him, at what age did you meet them? Lucky to have many, but I’m going to say “birth” here because my mom is awesome like that.
What state would you live in if you could pick up and move, no holds barred? Tennessee, I’ve always thought it was so pretty!
Is city or country living for you? I’ve done and loved both for different reasons, but for now I choose country because I want my little guy to feel at home in nature.
I will do a separate post when I think of my nominees and questions!
Thanks so much for reading!
