I started and deleted four different posts tonight. Everything from the shallow waters of The Voice premiere (Team Blake!) to deep thoughts about some of the ugliness we see around us daily.
And then my sweet, powdery, slightly sweaty, milky, drooling, smiling, babbling baby snuggled into my shoulder and started snoring.
And I forgot it all.
At least I look cute in my fan gear.
In the weeks before I went back to work, I started filling up my freezer so that I wouldn’t need to waste any valuable snuggle time cooking in the evenings. It worked great, and we just finished up the last tray this week. I’m working on my grocery list for next weekend to make another few batches. I’ll post some of my favorite recipes as I make them, and today I’ll fill you in on my technique.
Today, me & Mommy took a car ride to visit my great-grandma! We love her so much 🙂
I’ve been sitting here for the last fifteen minutes, just watching PJ try to suck his thumb. So far he has:
– Smacked himself in the forehead
– Stuck a finger up his nose
– Poked himself in the eye
– Accidentally laced his fingers together and needed help to get them apart
– Got his right thumb stuck in his left sleeve
– Chewed on his wrist twice
– Given me the finger (probably for laughing at him)
Not glamorous at all, but I can’t think of a single thing I’d rather be doing.
I went to the doctor today for my four month checkup! Mommy and me read stories in the waiting room:
The nurse measured me and weighed me – I am 23″ and 13 lbs 8 oz! That’s not even on the preemie chart anymore, and I’m in the 25th percentile for my weight and 5th for my height. Mommy says that makes me just like Pooh Bear!
Even though I smiled and flirted with the nurses, they still gave me shots – I felt so betrayed!
We were going to visit Mommy’s office, but I was sooo sad that we decided to go home and snuggle instead.
So me and my Charlie Brown bandaid will just sit here and be pitiful for awhile…and no more flirting with pretty girls for me if this is what I get for it!
OK, not a really far throwback, but this hat doesn’t fit anymore so I guess it counts 🙂 This was the day that we started his 48 hours to home countdown, he gave me the OK sign to let me know he was ready! And to go a little further back, this was from his ultrasound:
I knew he was going to be a character the minute I saw that thumbs up!
